A bite of Stardust on the Alps

Stardust will be presented on the 15th of April by the City of Trento during the local Smart City Week

The city of Trento will present the Stardust project and its role in the initiative on the 15th of April 2018 from 16:20 to 17:00 in Trento’s Piazza Duomo. The event is organised in the framework of the Trento Smart City Week, which will take place in the Italian alpine city from the 12th to the 15th of April.

The Trento Smart City Week 2018 will consist of a number of events such as roundtable discussions, seminars, workshops and exhibitions organised throughout the city addressing the general public. It is an occasion for everyone to learn from and to discuss on inspiring “smart” stories and experiences (download the programme here). The theme of the 2018 Smart City Week is “participation”, under the motto “The Hope of Belonging”, as smart communities can only arise when members collaborate actively towards the common good.

The event is promoted by the City of Trento, the Autonomous Province of Trento, Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), the University of Trento and the Consortium of the Trentino Municipalities, along with the collaboration of several many other local companies. It stems from the presence of Trento among the top ten smart cities in the world, based on the ranking of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

The presentation of Stardust will focus on the smart solutions in the fields of energy, ICT and mobility which will be implemented in Trento and nearby territories over the next five years. Seven local partners are involved in the project: Istituto Trentino per l’Edilizia Abitativa (ITEA) S.p.A., FBK, Habitech, Dolomiti Energia, Dedagroup Public Services and Bolzano Eurac Research. Roughly five million euro have been allocated for the implementation of the solutions. The following speakers will intervene during the presentation: Daniele Vettorato (Eurac Research), Giacomo Fioroni (City of Trento), Luigi Crema (FBK), Michela Chiogna (ITEA S.p.A) and Marco Cattani (Trentino Mobilità).
