Webinar Series | Innovative business models: barriers and lessons learnt

Join us to discover some lessons learned in developing smart business models in the Lighthouse Cities of Stardust and +Cityxchange!

This webinar, hosted by Officinae Verdi with the participation of the +CityxChange project coordinator, will briefly explain what has happened in some Lighthouse cities where innovative business models have been designed, tested, and implemented for the projects operating in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.

The discussion will also focus on the role of public and private stakeholders and how their contribution can enhance investments and make them bankable and profitable. The experts involved will show real successful and less successful business cases with related financial and investment solutions.

Get to know the panelists

Filippo Giglio

Filippo is an economist, Senior EU Funding & Projects Expert with a background in energy and environmental policies, economic analysis and financial solutions, impact assessment and climate change. He currently focuses on R&D and helps EU-funded projects develop and apply pioneering business & investment models.

 Valentina Scavelli

Valentina is a results-driven project manager and business developer with expertise in environmental sustainability and infrastructure engineering. She is skilled in project progress monitoring, budget management, and coordination of technical documentation.

Dirk Ahlers

Dr. Dirk Ahlers is a senior researcher and research manager with the NTNU Smart Sustainable Cities group of the Department of Architecture and Planning. He is the project manager of the +CityxChange European Lighthouse project. He is working with cities and stakeholders towards urban digitalisation, urban transitions and climate action, the EU New European Bauhaus and the EU Cities Mission, the SCC1 Lighthouse Group, and the EU Smart City Marketplace.
